The shredder of Idaho Steel is designed and manufactured for shredding cooked potatoes. It currently is provided with 3 different sized, interchangeable, shredder plates. The shredder is used in the production line to reduce product waste and to prepare the product for forming.
In a production line, valuable product is lost when the product is sized and the remnants are too small to be processed. The product is gravity fed into the processing chamber through the shredder hopper. In the processing chamber, the high-speed wipers push the product into the shredder blade to produce a uniform size. The processed product then falls out of the shredder into the next piece of equipment in the production line.
